The Coffee Roasters Guild (CRG) is the global trade guild of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) dedicated to inspire a diverse coffee roasting community through the development and promotion of the roasting profession.
The Roasters Guild Elections have closed and the results are in!
Executive Council members are elected each year by the Roasters Guild’s membership to fill vacancies left by outgoing members of the Roasters Guild Executive Council. There are six (6) open positions on the Executive Council for the 2017-2019 term.
The leadership of the current Roaster Guild of Europe Working Group and Roasters Guild Executive Council invite guild members and those interested in learning more about the guild to join our second informational webinar focusing on the process toward a unified guild for coffee roasters – the Coffee Roasters Guild (CRG).
I’m writing to discuss some updates to our election process. In the Roasters Guild, as with any election (is there another election going on right now?) it is important to make your voice heard and exercise your right as a member to vote.
Coffee is about relationships. Oftentimes those relationships are made on the road, and the time spent getting to your destination is just as important as the destination itself.
Twitter, Facebook, blogs, forums: the list goes on and on. There seems to be an endless list of places for a roaster to go these day to connect to other roasters. The strange thing is, for all of our resources, I am asked over and over where to go for solid answers. It seems as though the more information and conversation we have access to online, the more diffuse it all is, and the more voices there are to wade through.
How do I connect with other roasters in my area? This was a question that came up during the Roasters Guild (RG) meeting during the SCAA Expo in April. Since then, your Executive Council, the Membership & Communications Committee and the SCAA have been hard at work. We've all been working to help develop an easy way to find, and connect, to other roasters in your area.
