CRG Members: Confirm the Five Candidates in the 2020 Coffee Roasters Guild Election

CRG Members: Confirm the Five Candidates in the 2020 Coffee Roasters Guild Election

Dear members of the Coffee Roasters Guild around the globe,

As presented to CRG members on November 5, the CRG Election Committee, chaired by Past Chair Sonja Björk Grant, nominated a group of five professionals for the slate of candidates in the 2020 CRG election. Per the CRG Bylaws, members who were not selected for the slate had the option to seek signatures and petition to be added to the ballot.

As no additional members sought a petition candidacy, this year’s election remains uncontested, with an equal number of candidates and open seats, and there is no need to proceed with the usual voting process.

However, we would like to give CRG members the chance to provide comments on the new Leadership Committee members before officially concluding this election cycle. CRG members have been sent an email from elections@sca.coffee with a unique link to either confirm this year’s slate or object and provide comments. Please review the email and respond by the deadline of December 7. Problems finding your email? Get in touch here.

Baylee Engberg

Head Roaster at Trailhead Coffee Roasters

My name is Baylee and I am the Head Roaster at Trailhead Coffee Roasters in Portland, Oregon. I began my career in specialty coffee as a barista in the Greater Seattle Area thirteen years ago, but five years ago I found my passion-- roasting. Nowadays, I am the Director of Marketing and Engagement for #shestheroaster and am proudly involved with GlitterCat Barista as a Mentor and 2020 Roaster. From micro roasters to macro roasters; I've roasted on machines with a five hundred pound capacity all the way down to machines with a five hundred gram capacity-- it's what I love to do. I am pleased to continue serving this industry and would be honored to further my involvement with Coffee Roasters Guild.
