What are the responsibilities of a member of the CRG Leadership Council?
The CRG Leadership Council is a group of elected leaders who volunteer their time to the Coffee Roasters Guild and work with SCA staff to help deliver activities, events, and services online and offline to the global coffee roasting community. Our volunteer leaders add intellectual, political, and social value to new and ongoing initiatives of the SCA, CRG, and the industry at large. Meet our current Leadership Council here.
Some of the general responsibilities of the Leadership Council responsibilities include:
Being very well connected with the roasting community local and global - leading to selecting relevant themes and topics the CRG should work on.
Being very passionate about sharing knowledge and insights with the wider roaster community.
Working with the CRGLC on strategic goals and aims following CRG’s mission and vision, also following the SCA strategic plan.
Assisting SCA staff with developing content, resources, and activities for new and ongoing activities and events specifically designed for roasters.
Develop and create own projects and realize the ideas by gaining support from the CRGLC and using common project management tools.
Implementing objectives and activities according to CRG’s strategic plan and reporting progress on ongoing initiatives to the global CRG community and SCA.
Seeking to understand the needs of the CRG community and provide SCA staff with strategic input and direction on objectives.
Attending two CRG Leadership Council meetings per year.
Being available for virtual leadership meetings as required (12 virtual meetings per year).
How does the CRG election process work?
When nominations close on October 3, nominees will be reviewed by the CRG Election Committee chaired by me, CRG Immediate Past Chair Filip Bartelak, with the support of the two CRGLC members and two CRG Members at large.
The Election Committee will carefully review each nomination, and the committee members will carry out interviews. A slate of nominees will be selected from the nominee pool and will be announced on November 1. Email ballots will be sent to all CRG members on November 21, and the new Leadership Council members will be announced on December 9
